Surprise. Uber closes above IPO price for the first time.

that's valuation. What they actually raised was 8.1 billion dollars, or approximately 2.5 years of operating expenses until they're bankrupt.

Ride-hailing company commands a valuation of about $82 billion

You have to add the 5 Billion of Cash on hand that they listed in their S1 filing. 13 billion gives them about 3.5 yrs. LOL

My longer term predictions call for a sizeable dip in the market shortly and a final top near June 2023 at the latest. After that, TSHTF, everywhere.

I ignore all of that crap and go by charts. If you want to win over 80% of the time, watch Dennis Gartman and do the exact opposite of what he says.

It's been fun to watch this and appreciate all the knowledge you share,. It's amazing to see Uber Stock can't hold the IPO price, from my limited knowledge it's like a game of Hot potato when it reaches 45 or above you can see the Institutions that bought the IPO dumping it just to get out or make a few bucks.

What's your take when 180 day freeze ends and those shares flood the market ?

I don't know much about the 180 freeze.

Must they sell, or can they hold? I know they have to file their intention to sell ahead of time if they plan on doing so.
What I do know from the charts -- If it does not make a clean top (which it hasn't yet) regardless of how low it goes, the likelihood of a trip back up at some point is extremely high.

They CAN hold, but my guess is that about 80 to 90% will dump it the second they are allowed to.
I found this article about Lock up periods and found a few interesting things, Check it out.

That means Nov 10. Generally speaking, you really couldn't ask for a better time for the lockup period to end (assuming we want the stock at lows).

Maybe a week earlier would be better. August and October are usually down months. Late November & Xmas time is usually recovery.

This year we start a little early and might end a little late, and I think the bottom will be lower than most expect. If they hold out until 2020 it may recover with the rest of the market, but guess is they would have to manipulate price and pump it up hard for a November exit near these levels. Unless this dip and recovery in the overall markets goes quicker than I anticipate.

Just bought 500 shares of UBER today; what could possibly go wrong?
If it goes above the yellow line, you may get lucky.
If it goes below the red line, you may be screwed.
If you bought it on the red line with a stop loss at 42.55, good call, you won't lose much and you're up a little now, so move stop to even.
